EXCELLENT RALLY. WHEN DO WE GET TO SEE THE PHOTOS???
17 September 2008
Webmaster comments
Photos? Photos? You want photos AS WELL? There's no satisfying some people! Actually it's a very good question, I wish I had an equally good answer, but basically nobody has sent me any photos yet. I'll try and rustle some up - this year! |

Fantastic weekend. Took my 3-year old daughter who loved it. Definitely back next year. One point - I ordered a t-shirt from the BRG stall and it hasn't arrived yet. Any contact details for the trader, please.

On behalf of Meridian Chapter we would like to thank the organising chapters for another superb SOFER, we had a record attendance this year of 71, not bad for a fairly new chapter. Our chapter BBQ raised nearly £200.00 for the Helen Rollison cancer charity.great stuff, and one of our guys got a first in the Bagger section of the ride in show.everyones a winner!!! Roll on 2009

Yes that's a very good turnout by any standards, and one way and another the rally has raised a lot of money for charity. Glad you had a good time, and almost on your door step too! We need plenty of local attendance to stop those pie-rats from the North-East eating all our southern pies and taking all our women etc. - see message 132. |

Many thanks for yet another great rally! Despite getting soaked each day we had a brilliant time - laid back atmosphere, good bands and really appreciated Ron the bus driver's lift to the local pub for pie and beer! There'll be pictures on our website some time soon world wide web pie-rats.co.uk

Yes but look at it this way Slime: better pie than dry. Glad you blokes had a good time - there are rumours of widespread pie shortages in the Guildford area after your visit. |

Thanks for another fantastic weekend. This is our fourth SOFER rally and I must say it was the best. Brought several mates who had never been before and they were impressed , and it takes a lot to impress a Yorkshire man.! I know. See you all again next year with yet more Yorkies I'm sure.
5 August 2008 - Mandy & Adie and mates
Webmaster comments
Sounds like a YES! Glad you had a good time. I hope your Yorkies sampled some of our southern Real Ales, drawn from our Chapter Areas - Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Oxfordshire? We sold the lot! |

Best rally we have ever been to, and we have been to some! Well organised, drink and food in abundance and reasonably priced, we certainly got value for money from our tickets and the bands were excellent. We will be back next year, hopefully with a few more geordie chapter representatives when we sing your praises and tell them how well organised it was, and what a great setting. A big hand for all those involved in the organisation.

A HUGE thanks for such a superb rally. I didn’t think you could improve on last year, but you did. The atmosphere at Bisley was eclectic – I think it will take me a few more days before I stop buzzing! My circle of HOG friends has probably doubled. Thanks for your excellent hospitality, organisation and professionalism. Some photos of the event can be seen at http://www.verwoodspring.co.uk - including photos from the “Top Gun LOH ride” to the Top Gear track (they should have been displayed on the SnakesPix stand, but I forgot).

Our second year and it just gets better, arriving at the gate to be met by smiling faces all the lads were helpful and were doing a cracking job, obviously a lot of work going on behind the scenes to make it run so smooth, well done to you all, (maybe you could give HOG a hand for their next anniversary bash ? ) see you all next year. Cheers AL

thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Although i am a Nene Valley member I atttended with my mate from Oxford. Missed out on some of our own chapter stuff but made some new mates from the Warsaw Chapter, Poland. Although only 3 of them came on a scouting mission they were so impressed they said they would encourage more of their chapter to attend from Poland next year. truly an International event. Shame I had to attend on a Suzuki Bandit but the Sportster has gone TERMINAL.

Excellent, this gives us an opportunity to thank Wojtek Kozlowski, Wojciech Bialkowski and Jarek Chrobocinski of Warsaw Chapter for making the trip. They rode 1,700km to be there, we are pleased they enjoyed themselves, and that you did too. There were also folk from Lille and Lorraine Chapters, France, Hannut Chapter Belgium, Ireland and Switzerland. We have always encouraged international attendance and welcome more. |

Now that's all very well old chap but we were disappointed, DAMN disappointed, at the no-show of the Massed Bands of the Newport Pagnell Traffic Wardens, as promised by one of your chappies, by the name of Ward I think, yes that's it, Ward. Do you know the fellah? What a bounder! Too fond of the old sauce don't you know. Didn't go to the right school. Knew his mother in Poonah. Harrumph! Jolly good parade though. Carry on! |

Another great Bisley, even though I got well and truly lost on the poker run (87.4 miles lost.) Fantastic bands, loved "Feelgood". Fireworks were a little dissappointing. Roll on next year.

Sounds like you saw a bit of Surrey then. You must have been using SatNav! Sorry you were disappointed by the fireworks, it's essentially the same display we have had since SOFER 1, and there is only so much money we want to go up in smoke... |

What can I say? Fantastic comes to mind!! This was my first Sofer Rally and it will not be the last. I thought every part of the way the event was organised was brilliant. The website, the ticket sales, the camping, the chapter challenge, the food, the traders, the entertainment, the bands. all first class. Of course I really enjoyed the custom bike show - the grin hasn't yet gone from my face. It was great to see that my bike was appreciated by so many and for it to win Best in Show was the icing on the cake! Thanks everyone for making it such a seriously great rally. Now, when can I buy tickets for next year???? Gary
Chapter:: Chelsea and Fulham4 August 2008 - Just a short ride north of London

Thankyou for that Gary. Our organisation wasn't perfect though because we omitted to tell you that part of the prize for Best In Show is a voucher worth £100 to be spent in any Harley-Davidson dealership, courtesy of H.O.G. UK. That should make your grin even bigger... it will be in the post to you within a day or two. Tickets for 2009 will go on sale at the end of March 2009. |
